Alex is an experienced international executive, having worked in both private and public roles and having built valuable networks in Asia and the Middle East.

He has been significantly involved in several public/private projects including industry development strategies in the textile and clothing, and tourism sectors, developing the business case for the merger of two Crown entities, the introduction of competition in a large public policy area, overseeing the nationwide business leveraging programme during New Zealand’s hosting of the Rugby World Cup, and creating Asian business connections for the inaugural NZPGA tournament at the Hills in Queenstown.  Alex was previously New Zealand's Trade Commissioner in Singapore, with responsibility for developing and managing the Southeast Asia-wide beachheads programme, and was appointed a special envoy for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to pilot government-commercial partnerships focusing on the Asian and Gulf regions.


He has previously worked as a policy analyst, a private secretary to several Government Ministers, and as a consultant in a Wellington based advisory firm, Burleigh Evatt. Alex has a Bachelor’s degree from Victoria University and a post graduate business diploma from Massey University.
