Dr. Aaron Small graduated with a PhD in chemistry from Victoria University of Wellington in 2008, where he specialised in the addition of functionality to natural fibres through the use of nanotechnology. Aaron also works as a Research Fellow at Victoria University, where he is involved in the scale-up and commercialization of a novel technology. He is active in the social media space, where he has recently started a blog (www.thescientistnz.blogspot.com) on science and technology startup issues in New Zealand. Aaron’s long term career ambition is to work at the interface between business and science, creating successful high growth companies based on sound science and technology.
